What is Panagua?
The Free City of Panagua is an outlying territory and the symbolic capital of the Parliamentary Monarchy of Duckionary. Originally arising from an unsolved territorial dispute between Croatia and Serbia, this territory remained unclaimed by any nation, entity, or private institution since the Croatian War of Independence in the 1990s.
On 13 July 2021, Panagua was declared as purely symbolic territorial dependency by Duckionary.
From 14-16 August 2025, six participants braved the long journey and the many mosquitoes to set foot in Panagua for the first time. The team reached the site via the Croatian village of Batina and established a temporary base at the nearby Zeleni Otok. Activities in Panagua included placing physical markers to denote the visit, recording photographic and video material, two speeches and leaving a plaque in the forest. In addition, the group carried out a boat trip on the Danube to document the borders of Panagua from the water.
Where is Panagua located?
Panagua is located at Pocket 1 on the Croatian-Serbian border near the towns of Batina and Apatin. The Free Republic of Liberland, the Free Republic of Verdis and the Federated States of Gapla are located just a few kilometers south of Panagua.
