Bureaucracy. Sometimes it's useful, for example, when it comes to regulations designed to protect the environment or ensure citizen safety. Often, however, bureaucracy is unnecessary, complicated, intrusive, a tool of harassment, and a gateway for corruption.
Micronations have often criticized bureaucracy, such as the Republic of Kugelmugel or the Royal Republic of Ladonia. We, as the Parliamentary Monarchy of Duckionary, also criticize bureaucracy. We believe that a state exists for its citizens, not the other way around. And this is also a reality. For example, the Principality of Liechtenstein has such confidence in its citizens' satisfaction that its constitution not only contains numerous elements of direct democracy, but also grants every municipality in Liechtenstein the constitutionally enshrined right to secede and establish its own independent state. Furthermore, under certain conditions, citizens of a municipality can secede and found a new one. Of course, nobody does this – because in this small principality, where the prince is personally present for his citizens and the people are largely content, there is no reason for significant dissatisfaction or secessionist movements. And so it should be.
Regulations are necessary. But they must be sensible, understandable, and efficient. Anything else is harassment and arbitrariness. Even the Communists, although their regimes are often very bureaucratic, officially strive for a free, self-governing, and therefore also mostly bureaucracy-free society. Reducing bureaucracy is neither a right-wing nor a left-wing issue. Reducing bureaucracy is a matter of reason and respect for the citizens.
Duckionary also wants to advocate for a society without unnecessary bureaucracy. And not only through creative artistic and political protest, but in our own Free City-State Panagua. Help us to make Panagua a reality.
