Following the successful MES in Romkerhall last year, it was once again time for a summit in the Czechia. The Moravian capital, Brno, had already been selected as the host city for the event in the first half of 2025, with the Old Town Hall, built in 1240 and featuring the famous Brno Dragon, designated as the venue.
The event began on 14 August 2026 with morning tours of the Capuchin Crypt and the labyrinth beneath Brno’s old vegetable market. In the afternoon, the first edition of the Intermicronational Isthmian Games was held. Organized by the Micronational Olympic Federation under King Johannes of Slitronia, the Games were opened on Friday afternoon in Koliště Park in Brno by Archduke Arthur of Duckionary. This was followed by the blessing of the athletes with seawater from the Baltic Sea in honor of Poseidon, in keeping with the tradition of the ancient games, after which the anthem of the Isthmian Games (an excerpt from the theme song of “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson,” composed by Vladimir Dashkevich) was played. A total of 10 nations participated, represented by 11 athletes. The competition consisted of four disciplines: Three, the 100-meter dash, the discus throw, and the shot put (which was held under the name “ball throw”), that were revived from the Nemean Games, as well as a new event, the long jump. Johannes of Slitronia won three of the four disciplines, while Émilien “Wolfomir” Gallet of Dibistan won one. The games concluded with an award ceremony where the winners of the individual competitions received medals and the overall winner a pine wreath, very much in the style of the ancient Isthmian Games.
Following this sporting event, which is set to remain a fixture of the Micro Euro Summits, the displays were set up in the Fresco Hall of the Old Town Hall in Brno. That evening, an initial informal dinner took place in a private room at the traditional Czech tavern "Stopkova Plzeňská Pivnice" in the city center. There, most of the 33 participants gathered and toasted the upcoming weekend with Czech beer and Kofola.
On the morning of the 15 August 2026, at approximately 8:45 a.m., participants were admitted to the Fresco Hall of the Old Town Hall. Following a brief opening address by Zar Antonov, the conference commenced with a presentation by Archduke Arthur of Duckionary regarding micronations in the Croatian-Serbian border region. After welcoming the attendees, he recounted the expedition undertaken in August 2025 to Panagua and Liberland and explained the historical and legal circumstances of the area. The second speaker was King Ioannis I of Arkaland, who introduced the participants to an ongoing project under the auspices of Duckionary: The establishment of a micronational university, an initiative that Duckionary and its partners have been working on for over a year. Before the first break, Grand Master Paul Paccheri of the Krker Order gave a short presentation titled "How Big Can a Micronation Be?" In it, he examined the mathematical limits of a micronation's size while still qualifying as "micro."
Participants used the generous breaks to sign treaties, take photos, marvel at the displays, collect stamps and souvenirs and visit the Town Hall tower, admission to which was included in the conference fee, for a phenomenal view of Brno.
After the break, an hour was set aside for a group discussion led by Dr. Sandra Petermann from the Institute of Geography of the University of Mainz (Germany). Participants were asked a wide range of questions about their involvement in micronationalism, sparking a lively exchange. Topics of discussion included whether the participants viewed micronationalism as a hobby and the points at which their respective micronation’s visions and ideas reached their limits. This exchange proved highly stimulating for both the delegates present and Dr. Petermann.
Following this highly productive morning, participants were served sandwiches, snacks and refreshments, and the conference paused for over an hour, providing valuable time for networking. At 1:30 PM, the program resumed with a workshop led by Zar Antonov, in which participants crafted their own medals. Afterward, Quintus De Vitaliis of Græcia gave a presentation on constructed languages, such as Esperanto, Volapük, and others, a topic that aligns perfectly with the concept of micronationalism. The final presentation, titled "Leopold Kohr and his political philosophy of 'Small Nations'," was led by Jürgen Schwarz of Musania. Kohr is regarded as a pioneer of the environmental movement and a key figure behind the "Small is Beautiful" concept. During the closing remarks, Prince Jean-Pierre IV of Aigues-Mortes delivered a brief speech inviting participants to MicroCon EU 2027, which is scheduled to take place in Aigues-Mortes next autumn. Traditionally, Archduke Arthur brought the conference to a close with the final remarks. It was announced that the MES conference would henceforth take place in even-numbered years, accompanied by a smaller cultural expedition during the odd-numbered years. With the playing of the MES anthem, this year’s conference formally concluded, and the dismantling of flags and displays began.
After the participants had freshened up following the highly regal conference, the diplomatic dinner began at 7:00 PM in the historic cellars of the Baroko restaurant. A red carpet was rolled out at the entrance, and the conference flag was hoisted. Once dinner had been served, the traditional presentation of medals and awards took place. Several nations presented their own honors, while the MES Planning Committee awarded three medals of the Silver Wreath to deserving supporters. A highlight of the evening was the ceremony honoring five participants who had attended every Micro Euro Summit since 2022. During the dinner, which lasted until shortly before midnight, treaties were signed and other matters of the utmost micronational importance were discussed.
In keeping with the tradition of the MES, a rich cultural program took place on Sunday, 16 August 2026. In the morning, some attendees visited the orthodox church St. Wenceslas and later, around 25 participants joined a guided tour of Brno’s old water tanks, a unique architectural landmark built in the 19th and early 20th century. After a group lunch at Špilberk Castle, some members visited the castle’s prison, chapel, and tower before the Sunday program concluded with a tour of the old "10-Z" air-raid shelter. On Monday, a small group took a day trip to the world-famous Punkva Caves and the Macocha Gorge in the Moravian Karst. With that, the Micro Euro Summit had truly come to an end.
