Akademische Turnverbindung Duckonia Panagua ,,Duckonia sei’s Panier!‘‘
Many Citizens and Friends of Duckionary have an academic background. The Archduke of Duckionary himself is a civis academicus. The founding of the Akademische Turnverbindung Duckonia Panagua was therefore a logical and consistent step. Student fraternities are (almost) as old as the very concept of the university itself. However, it was not until the late 18th and the first half of the 19th century that student fraternities evolved into their modern forms. With the Parliamentary Monarchy of Duckionary as an Austrian-based micronation and Panagua / Pocket 1 as a former part of the territory of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, it is only natural that our student fraternity models itself on the established traditions of Austrian student fraternities. As a religiously and politically neutral student fraternity open to all genders and nationalities, we have adopted the form of an Akademische Turnverbindung (=‘‘academic gymnastics fraternity‘‘).
We want to motivate our members to achieve excellence. Excellence in academic, athletic, social, and professional spheres alike. In doing so, we never view mind and body as opposites. Quite the contrary. The famous timeless wisdom of the ancient Roman poet Juvenal serves as motivation, wish and obligation for us: Mens sana in corpore sano. The Akademische Turnverbindung Duckonia Panagua offers its members a sense of belonging, community, tradition, and values, as well as motivation for a sporty, healthy and successful lifestyle. The Akademische Turnverbindung Duckonia Panagua shapes responsible leaders. Our student fraternity's flag is identical to the national flag of the Parliamentary Monarchy of Duckionary. This is nothing unusual. For example, the national flag of the Republic of Estonia is identical to the flag of the Estonian Students' Society.
The Doctor cerevisiae, or Doctor cerevisiae et vini, is an old tradition among student fraternities in German-speaking regions. Today, this custom is practiced almost exclusively in Austria. It serves as a way to bestow special honors upon fraternity members who have rendered outstanding service.
One more reason to get involved.
You can't demand it, you can't buy it - but you can earn it through hard work and dedication.
Requirements for membership:
Currently or previously enrolled at a university.
In exceptional cases, high school seniors and students who have completed their secondary education (Abitur) may also be admitted, provided they demonstrate exceptional motivation and aim to obtain an academic degree.
No connection to violent extremism.
Unconditional support for the Constitution of the Republic of Austria.
Citizenship of Duckionary or a micronation allied with Duckionary.
