Adventure Tourism in Panagua

The Archduke warmly welcomes you to the Free City of Panagua, the capital of the

Parliamentary Monarchy of Duckionary!

Panagua is located at Pocket 1 on the Croatian-Serbian border near the towns of Batina and Apatin. The Free Republic of Liberland, the Free Republic of Verdis and the Federated States of Gapla are located just a few kilometers south of Panagua.

Panagua already has a thriving adventure tourism industry. Hikers and recreational

fishermen regularly visit the capital of the Parliamentary Monarchy of Duckionary.

Spending the night in your own tent is also a popular option. This adventure tourism, particularly the overnight tent camping stays, represents a crucial developmental step on the path toward the permanent settlement Panagua. There are border crossings from Croatia into Panagua. At present, border checks are typically not conducted. In August 2025, the Archducal Government installed initial border markers at the Croatian-Duckonian border and left a plaque in the woods. Enjoy the beautiful nature of Panagua and the special aura of a place where, over centuries, the cultural influences of Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and the Orient have left their mark. Seize the opportunity to experience a place where a new state is coming into being. That is truly not something you get to witness every day.

In recognition of the significance that adventure tourism in Panagua holds on the path toward actual, permanent settlement, anyone who demonstrably travels to Panagua and demonstrably spends at least one night there, shall receive an award and a medal. Visit (and join) Panagua!

At this time, a visit to Panagua is truly recommended only for those accustomed to adventure travel. Visits are undertaken at one's own risk. It cannot be entirely ruled out that unexploded ordnance may remain buried in the area as a result of WWII and the Croatian War of Independence. However, excessively heavy mine contamination dating back to the Croatian War of Independence is rather unlikely, at least in this specific regard, given that the area remained under Serbian (Republic of Serbian Krajina) control for almost the entire war; consequently, laying mines to defend against a Serbian attack launched from the opposite bank of the Danube would have made no sense. A visa or residence permit for Croatia / European Union is required. Entry into Panagua is, in principle, also possible by water, provided one is arriving directly from another EU country. Entry by land is recommended. It is possible, that Croatian Police forces may enter Panagua. Despite being on Duckonian soil, you shall definitely follow the instructions of the Croatian Officers and respect the laws of the Republic of Croatia. Building good relations with the Croatian Government is an essential step on our way towards sovereignity. The permanent settlement and sovereignity of the Free City of Panagua can and will never be realized against the will of the Croatian Government, but only with friendship, respect and good neighbourhood.
